On the occasion of the ongoing Maycom Festival in Cannes, AR came to play with Chinese and global micro-shorts. AR operations span $7 billion in the Chinese market and $4 billion in international short play content, with eight studios and five large applications under its banner, with a reserve of 1,000 dramas, and over 100 short dramas with a global impact of billions. During this festival, AR focused on the new and popular series of three of the most active studios in the industry – Six-Five Film, Playlet and COL.

The six-wing media, founded in 2022, were created by the online writer, Master Swords, and produced an average of more than 20 original dramas per month, with a collection of over 500 works and a rate of 50 per cent. The exhibit, The Metropolitan Therapist, tells the story of the construction workers who made their lives reverse by virtue of their medical skills and tenacity, and the story of the cleaning lady Tang Pearl against the indiscretion, both of which reflect its visual-oriented narrative through the six-wing short play.

Playlet, which focused on the micro-synthesis, achieved a 400 per cent income boom in Asia and the Pacific at the beginning of 2024, maintaining top industry performance. The Mayor’s XXL Wife: Her Stunning Return talks about the rebirth of a fat girl who had been mocked; The Secret Heises presents the dramatic story of Lily Wilson returning home in revenge. Working with mature people is at the heart of the global expansion strategy for the studio.

The listed company COL, through the development of business networks in China, North America and South-East Asia, has hatched three platforms, Reelshort, Sustainable+ and Flareflow, covering content authorization, IP development, co-production and consultation. Its Seleal+ brand, My L.A. Fireman, plays the flaming love of California’s mountain fire, My Call Boy Billionaire Daddyy tells the story of Inés’ rewrite against the powerful family, highlighting the way in which COL blends fine narratives with scalable international formats.

The collective appearance of three companies marks the acceleration of the process of the global distribution of short play content through international platforms such as the Cannes Television Festival.
