The OpenAI Network announced that British Wida had signed a letter of intent for cooperation with OpenAI to build a strategic partnership. Under the agreement, In Weida will deploy a computing system of at least 10 gigawatts for the next generation of AI infrastructure in OpenAI to train and run its next generation model leading to super intelligence. These systems are based on the British Wida platform, which is equivalent to millions of GPUs in size.

In support of the deployment plan, including data centres and power capacity, it is proposed that the cumulative investment in OpenAI during the deployment of the new system amounts to $100 billion. The first phase of the system is scheduled to go online in the second half of 2026, using the British Vera Rubin platform. Hoang In-hoon, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of In Weida, said: “From the breakthrough of the first DGX supercomputer to Chat GPT, Britain and OpenAI have been driving each other forward for 10 years, and this investment and infrastructure cooperation marks a leap towards a new journey and a new era of intelligence with the deployment of 10 kiva algorithms.”

“All begins with the calculation”, stressed by Sam Altman, co-founder and chief executive officer of OpenAI, “the computing infrastructure will be the cornerstone of the future economy, and we will use the facilities that we are building with Weaverda to achieve both a new technological breakthrough in AI and a scaling-up of these results to global users”. The co-founder and Managing Director of OpenAI, Greg Brockmann, added: “Since the early days of OpenAI, he has been working in depth with the British. We rely on its platform to create an AI system for the daily use of hundreds of millions of people. The cooperation in this deployment of 10 Gwa calculus will help us to expand our intellectual boundaries so that this technology benefits all humanity.”

OpenAI will be the first strategic partner in its AI computing plant expansion programme. Both sides will work together to optimize the OpenAI model and infrastructure software, as well as the technology road map for British Wida hardware and software. This collaboration will strengthen the in-depth collaboration that has been developed between OpenAI and the British Wida and a wide range of eco-cosms, including Microsoft, Oracle, Silver and Stargate partners, to build the world ‘ s most advanced AI infrastructure. OpenAI emphasizes that it has now surpassed 700 million active users and is widely adopted by global enterprises, SMEs and developers. This cooperation will contribute to OpenAI’s mission of “Agent Universal Intelligence for All”.

The parties are expected to finalize the details of the new phase of strategic cooperation within a few weeks.
